The new generation SPC-180NX TCSPC / FLIM module features excellent temporal resolution, excellent timing stability, high sensitivity, near-ideal photon efficiency, and high spatial resolution and high data throughput in the FLIM mode. The electrical IRF width is 3.5 ps FWHM, the internal timing jitter 1.5 ps RMS. With the fast HPM-100-06 hybrid detector the SPC-180NX reaches an IRF width of less than 18 ps FWHM. Decay data can be resolved into up to 4096 time channels, with a minimum time bin width of 407 femtoseconds. Pixel numbers in the FLIM mode can be as high as 4096 x 4096, pixel rates can be in the MHz range.
The photon recording works by bh’s multidimensional TCSPC technique. Data acquisition functions include single-curve recording, sequential recording, multi-wavelength operation, FLIM, FLIM with laser wavelength multiplexing, multi-wavelength FLIM, time-series FLIM, ultra-fast time-series recording by temporal-mosaic FLIM, spatial mosaic FLIM, Z stack FLIM, phosphorescence lifetime imaging (PLIM), and fluorescence lifetime-transient scanning (FLITS).
Target applications of the new SPC-180NX modules are fluorescence decay experiments, anti-bunching experiments, fluorescence correlation, single-molecule spectroscopy, metabolic imaging, FRET imaging, recording of fast physiological processes in biological systems, and time-domain fNIRS and NIRS experiments.
